I'm a Managing Director in Investment Banking at Morgan Stanley, where I lead the Retail (Americas) franchise. For more than 25 years I've advised consumer and retail companies through their most significant strategic and financial decisions. Here's what has my attention right now.
Advising consumer and retail brands
My work centers on advising iconic consumer brands across apparel, footwear, luxury, specialty retail, and e-commerce on merger and acquisition and capital market transactions. I partner closely with management teams and boards as they navigate pivotal moments in a company's journey. Recent work includes advising the Special Committee of the Board of Directors of Nordstrom on its 2025 sale.
Treating leadership as a discipline
I believe the best leaders are lifelong learners, and I treat leadership as a discipline that requires continuous investment. I've gone through Echelon Front's training, rooted in extreme ownership, along with leadership programs at the Aspen Institute centered on values-based, principled decision-making. Guiding teams through high-stakes decisions takes more than technical expertise: it takes accountability and clarity under pressure.
Supporting education and libraries
Outside of banking, my philanthropic focus is on expanding access to education and supporting public libraries. I've served in leadership roles at the New York Public Library and on the Board of Advisors of the University of Pennsylvania Libraries, where I endowed the Singh Family Fund supporting South Asian Studies and works from underrepresented voices of the global Indian diaspora. I'm also the founding Chair of the Huntsman Program Alumni Committee at Penn.
On the lighter side
When I'm not deep in a transaction, I'm at home in Jackson Hole, Wyoming with my wife, Vandita, our three children, and our Coton de Tulear, Coco. I grew up in Dublin, Ohio, so I'm a lifelong Buckeye and Ohio State football fan. In whatever free time I find, I'm usually reading, playing tennis, or working through podcasts like Modern Wisdom, The Tim Ferriss Show, and All the Hacks.
